Midsize Enterprise Summit Launches Vertical Industry Program

Vision Events Expands Focus in Banking and Manufacturing Sectors for Midsize Enterprise Summit, September 10-12 in Austin, Texas

BEDFORD, N.H., June 25, 2003 – Vision Events, a Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) company, today announced the launch of the Midsize Enterprise Summit vertical industry program. The Summit, now in its third year, will address midmarket-specific IT issues, trends and solutions from both a horizontal and vertical industry perspective.

More than 350 prequalified senior IT executives, as well as Gartner analysts, technology vendors and the media will attend the next Summit on September 10-12, 2003 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Midsize Enterprise Summit takes place three times per year at East, West and Central venues.

"Based on the importance of the midmarket and tremendous IT vendor investments being made in this space, we have aggressive plans to expand this Summit, both in numbers and toward a vertical perspective," said Raymond Laracuenta, managing vice president for Gartner's IT Management and Small and Midsize Business (SMB) research.

Midsize Enterprise Summit will continue to focus on IT strategies and technologies that impact all midmarket industries in areas such as IT management, security, mobile/wireless, storage and networking. Concurrently, the event will expand the IT executive audience from the banking and manufacturing industries, add Gartner-led sessions specific to banking and manufacturing concerns, and increase technology vendor opportunities.

"Market trends, including intense competition and buyer demand, have driven technology vendors to customize solutions to serve midmarket needs, while further developing strategies to focus on the highest-growth vertical markets to increase revenue and profitability," said Bob Goodwin, vice president for Gartner's Global Industries Practice.

Among the Corporate Sponsors of the next Midsize Enterprise Summit are Cisco Systems, Citrix, IBM, JD Edwards, Nokia, PeopleSoft, SAP and Sun Microsystems.
